The Structure and Growth of a Group

With a group there are – we could say paradoxically – as many different definitions as there are human groups. We are therefore called to mark the boundaries of the type of group we want to deal
with here and to define its specific characteristics. From our perspective, a group is an ensemble of people that is united by an interest in the common ideal of existential improvement, both in terms of their individual consciousness and the wider one that involves other human beings and the collective life. It deals therefore with a group that finds the motivation of its existence in awork in of service of human to evolution. This type of group must meet a first requirement: that the inner orientation is unanimous and freely chosen by all participants. Where this requirement is fulfilled – and becomes the starting point towards the realization of common objectives – we witness the birth of a real “entity”. It is a new phenomenal reality, autonomous and endowed with its intrinsic vitality, which derives from the contributions of commitment and energy made available by the people who are part of it.

The Star Work

Let’s now see how the work of the group that chooses to adopt the model of the six-pointed star (and seven vertices) as a tool takes place. A fundamental premise is that the participants have a certain knowledge of the 7 Rays and their qualities, and that they have sufficiently explored themselves in the light of this typological characterization. It is not necessary to know precisely ones own structure based on the Rays, but at the very least to have recognized in ones self the presence of certain characteristics that lean toward one Ray rather than another. Such self-perception allows the person to easily align themselves to the qualities that each function requires.

Seven Steps in Group Consciousness

We begin to put some seeds of thought in the field of our future co-creative gathering of Planet Within. They are seeds released in freedom, to attract other seeds, other inspirations, other contributions. Together, during Planet Within, we will find a way to unveil how Group Consciousness can be the gateway to the New Human Civilization. We know that the development of group consciousness is a response to a powerful evolutionary energy, defined as the law of elevation or as the law of group progress. This development is marking this time of the life of Humanity, and despite the contrasts and conflicts that characterize every new phase of crisis and learning of the human group, we can see how this process is renewing from within the whole system of human relations.

The Group as a Magnet

A magnet is an attractor, that is, an element that can attract and be attracted. On the physical plane we find a very simple example in the magnet that attracts iron filings and places it within its own field of influence. On the psychic level each person acts, consciously or unconsciously as an attractor, that is, he attracts to himself what corresponds to his own profound nature, whether it be of other beings, of opportunities, or of obstacles. That of magnetism is therefore a phenomenon both physical and psychic, which operates automatically and is what makes our life what it is, with its sphere of relationships and events.

Introduction on the Group in Star Formation

We are now on the threshold of the Age of Aquarius, the age of groups: which means that not only will groups on the planet multiply, but that they will increasingly become the bearers of the flame of evolution. Therefore it becomes useful and necessary to discover new and more effective methods than what has been done so far to promote the formation of well-directed groups and to favor their rapid development, so that the Planet, so in need of union, can benefit from it as useful construction tools and of acceleration.

Group consciousness in business

It may seem strange to reflect on professional, organisational or business groups when thinking about group consciousness, but as we know, the overall progress of humanity is bound in the kaleidoscope of diversity and the progress made by each particle or subset. For this reason, it seems helpful to consider where these professional groups are headed in their consciousness and also what if anything spiritual groups can learn from them.

Leadership and world affairs

The current world situation helps consider how the relationship between leadership and group is evolving, and whether leadership is still a prerogative of individuals. The form of such relationship currently most applied throughout the world is democracy with its multifaceted manifestations, sometime even in blatant contradiction. There are many evident limitations to this model, and it is impossible not to recognize that it is characterized by a form of use of force by the majority against the minority: the enforcement of the will of the majority on the will of the minority. This certainly creates an interesting creative dynamism, in some places similar to a pendulum, but at the same time it does also create scars and resentment which manifest, in best case scenarios, through reversal of policies, and in worst through discrimination, exclusion, arbitrary detentions, etc, i.e. violations of human rights and fundamental freedoms.
